Exhibition in May 2026
As part of the exhibition “DuoVisūs—About a Man Who Set Out to Learn Photography,” Simon Hinte presented his work in person to the public for the first time in May 2026.
The exhibition featured a selection of analog photographs from recent years.
The exhibition was accompanied by the magazine “DuoVisūs Vol. I,” published concurrently, which provides additional insight into the artist’s career.
Framed by the opening and closing receptions, more than 20 works were on display for a week in downtown Darmstadt across an area of over 130 square meters. Each print on display was accompanied by an information card, which was individually typed on handmade paper using a typewriter and included key details about the work.
In addition to opening remarks, the opening reception featured a varied program. To emphasize the exhibition’s analog focus, Simon Hinte decided to display not only the photographs but also a slide projector with color positives. The program was also displayed on cards that had been typed on a typewriter.
Attendees had the opportunity to ask questions while enjoying drinks and snacks and to purchase the featured works right there on the spot. In addition, a print of their choice was raffled off among all buyers of the magazine.
The regular hours that followed offered a more relaxed atmosphere, which drew in curious passersby and gave visitors to the opening a chance to take a second look.
The closing reception was held in cooperation with the Darmstadt-based event agency Label.31. With DJs, drinks, and a lively atmosphere, several hundred guests stopped by the exhibition throughout the evening and had another opportunity to ask questions, view the artwork, and purchase magazines.
