About DuoVisūs

The brand name DuoVisūs is derived from the Latin terms " duo" and "visūs ," which can be loosely translated as "two perspectives."

Reality as it is found and its photographic representation. Light & shadow, color & black-and-white, analog & digital. Real, authentic, and full of character.

What began as a personal creative outlet, DuoVisūs has since evolved into more than just a gallery—it now also offers commissioned photography.

Unique visual style and approach

DuoVisūs is, above all, one thing—multifaceted.

A variety of subjects, scenarios, and ways to capture them. Moving seamlessly between landscapes, everyday life, concerts, and sports—without compromising on the results.
The photographs thrive on authenticity and a distinctive style—not on sterile resolution and supposed perfection.

Valued by musicians, bands, individuals, and businesses.

Photography is never just a simple reproduction of reality.
Image composition, colors, light, and perspectives set the course long before light passes through a lens onto film or a sensor and a photograph is created.

Photographs reflect a particular perspective and way of looking at things.
What do you pay attention to, and how do you perceive things?

All photographs are taken through observation. With a keen eye and a unique perspective, most scenes often require no external intervention to produce a good photo.

Why analog?

Even in the digital age, analog film still offers clear advantages as a medium.
Film has character; it’s authentic and a tangible process.
Photography that is deliberate and stripped down to the essentials—without having to compromise on quality.

After years of rapid technological progress, more and more people are longing for authenticity—physical negatives instead of mere digital files.

Exhibition

In May 2026, Simon Hinte presented his photographs for the first time as part of an exhibition.

In the heart of downtown Darmstadt, a selection of analog works was on display for a week in a space spanning over 130 square meters. Framed by the opening and closing events, the works were very well received by curious passersby.

Publications

The first issue of the magazine DuoVisūs was published to accompany the exhibition in the spring of 2026.
A photography magazine featuring additional images not shown in the exhibition, accompanied by narrative anecdotes and background information on Simon Hinte’s photography and his passion for analog photography.

The second issue was published in the fall of 2026, with content focused on just under four weeks in Italy. It featured 40 pages with plenty of photos, stories, and more.

Independent Projects

These personal projects are, without exception, the result of my own creativity and enjoyment of the photographic process. Often created without a specific purpose in mind, the photographs exist as an end in themselves.

Capturing everyday observations, testing a new film, or bringing an idea to life.
At the same time, DuoVisūs is actively pursuing its own (physical) projects, such as the DuoVisūs Magazine, print collections, and a photo calendar.

Cameras and film are constant companions when traveling and in everyday life.

Commissioned Works

If you want to capture authentic and genuine moments, you also want your photos to have character and that certain something. My analog commissioned work offers just that charm. Depending on your needs, I can work over several days and create a photo essay.

For anyone who wants that very specific vibe and an authentic feel in their photos.
Joint planning and preliminary discussion—concrete execution and concept as part of the exclusive DuoVisūs Experience.
